KINGSTON BAGPUIZE WITH SOUTHMOOR
Our village was formed by the union of two separate
villages, which expanded dramatically in the last century to merge
into a single settlement. Originally the hamlet of Southmoor (or
Draycott Moor) was part of Longworth parish. The boundaries changed
and Draycott Moor became a parish in its own right. The two parishes
merged in 1971 to form Kingston Bagpuize with Southmoor. During
the boundary changes of 1974 the area changed from being in Berkshire
to Oxfordshire.
