The Club started with short mat bowling in the late 1980s, encompassing outdoor flat green bowling in 1996 when the clubhouse and artificial, all-weather green were completed. We play friendly matches against local teams and are in various Berkshire County leagues.

Bagpuize with Southmoor Tennis Club
Our club, which has two floodlit hardcourts together with a well-equipped clubhouse is situated in the centre of the village next to the Village Hall, Draycott Road. It has a broad base of adult and junior players who play throughout the year.
Membership costs are reasonable and range from £82 for a family to £14 for juniors (details from Linda Hopgood).
Members wishing to play in the evening during the autumn and winter months may purchase lighting tokens (£1 each per half hour) from Linda or Keith Hopgood (01865 820909).

Coaching and Playing Opportunities.
For adults, group coaching sessions are run by the club coach, Dave Crowley. We also have mixed club sessions for players of all abilities - these are held on Sunday mornings from 11.00 (10.30 during school holidays) to 13.00 throughout the year.
Both Ladies', Men's and Mixed teams are entered into leagues (Wilson Summer League and Thames Valley Winter League) and, in addition, a number of friendly matches with other clubs are arranged. The club also plays in the Hanney Winter Floodlight League against other local teams. Monthly visits (excluding July, August and December) to the White Horse Tennis Centre in Abingdon are also organised (last Friday of month).

The club is very keen to promote the development of junior tennis. Group coaching sessions for all levels, including 'mini tennis' for beginners, are run by the club coach during school term-time. For the coming summer season, the club has again entered teams in the National Junior Club League: Under 16-girls; Under 16-boys.
We also have an U14 Boys teams and an U14 Girls team entered in the B G Stone Summer League.
Junior 'club nights' also take place each Wednesday from 6 - 7 pm and 7 - 8 pm under adult supervision.
The Junior Winter Floodlight League (U15 mixed), organised by Cholsey Tennis Club, started in November 2003 and will again be running this winter.

Other Activities
Junior and Adult Tennis 'Fun Days' take place in August/September and the club tournament runs from May to end June. Social activities are also organised, notably the annual club dinner.
