We are a Patchwork and Quilting group of mixed knowledge and ability.  You are free to take part in as much or as little as you wish; the main thing is to enjoy the group.  We meet on the second and third Monday of each month from September to July in the Swallow Room at Southmoor Village Hall at 7.30 pm and have a varied programme of workshops and discussions.

Visit the Quilters' Guild website for background information.

Kingston Bagpuize Drama Group

Southmoor and Kingston Bagpuize Gardening Club

Contact: Julie Carpenter (Secretary) tel-01865 820885

The Gardening Club is for everyone who takes pleasure in seeing plants grow and thrive.  Some members have greener fingers than others, but don't feel that you have to be a good gardener to join.  You don't!   Whether you are a reluctant or highly enthusiastic gardener, you will certainly enjoy the company which you will find in one of the friendliest clubs in the village.

Visit the Gardening Club website for more information.

Longworth History Society

Who are we?
We are a group of people who are interested in the local history of Longworth, Kingston Bagpuize with Southmoor, and Hinton Waldrist.

We meet monthly. Indoor meetings are usually at 7.30pm on the third Wednesday of the month in Longworth Village Hall or the third Thursday in Southmoor Village Hall. We have two different kinds of open evenings to which everyone is welcome. There are evenings with an invited speaker, who generally talks on a topic of very local interest, usually illustrating the talk with slides. We also have theme evenings hosted by members who have researched a local topic associated with the local villages (Kingston Bagpuize, Southmoor, Longworth and Hinton Waldrist). Often the material used is from our own growing archive of material - much of which has been gained from about two hundred interviews with local people. Just turn up. You will be made very welcome. £2 visitors, £7 annual membership (£10 family). Refreshments provided.
