KBS Online is the community web site for the village of Kingston Bagpuize with Southmoor, Oxfordshire. Whether you are a resident, visitor or family historian you will find useful local information here. Kingston Bagpuize with Southmoor is situated 10 miles south-west of Oxford at the junction of the A420 and A415.
The parish lies on the 'Golden Ridge' of Corallian limestone which runs from Cumnor to Faringdon. Its fertile soils have nurtured farms famous for their fruit and hops. The name comes from de Bachepuise, a Norman family who controlled the estates after the Conquest. The building of a bypass has encouraged recent development and the population is now nearly 2000. The village shops and services are used by many neighbouring communities.

What's on for kids.....
The village has lots of activities for children, and to make it easier for parents and children to know what's available for children at a glance, we've amalgamated all the village activities here. Email us here if you have something you'd like to add.
Lots of ideas for family days out in the surrounding area can be found here for Children
and here for adults. Look at both as some fall into both categories.
